PRE-K to 6 The Vincent Capuana School No. 15 is an all kindergarten school. It has ten classrooms with approximately 250 students. The school has a computer lab, a music room, two large multipurpose rooms, and a health suite. Some classrooms, the music room, and the main office have beautiful fish tanks that house "community" fish. Our instructional focus is READING. The literacy instruction is present across the content areas. Students are exposed to literature-based activities that support research-based instruction. The administration from Jefferson School No. 1 will be serving as the administrators for Vincent Capuana School 15 until further notice. The staff meets regularly to discuss student data, student work, to learn, and to use effective research based teaching practices. Students have the opportunity to experience independent and cooperative learning opportunities through learning centers. The school structure has been changed to support the instructional focus by identifying and eliminating barriers. With this new structure, the staff provides to all the students meaningful opportunities for participation and success. During the course of the year numerous programs and activities have been established for students and parents. They include but are not limited to the following: student of the month poster display, Book fair, Pumpkin Patch, Thanksgiving Holiday Baskets, Breakfast with Santa, Valentine's Day Dance, Night At The Spa, Mother's Day Breakfast, Father's Day Activity, Field Day, and a Yearbook culminating the end of the year. The staff at Vincent Capuana School No.15 strongly believes that the most important challenge of our school is to ensure that ALL of our children master the gatekeeping skills of reading, writing, and mathematics, plus have a fundamental grasp of science and social studies.
