![]() Principal Patricia Ramsay District E-Mail PowerTeacher PowerSchool Grant School Number 7 is located on the corner of Summer Street and Myrtle Avenue and has developed tremendously over the last few years. We have gone through many changes, from an elementary school servicing 250 students to over 400 Pre-Kindergarten through Second graders!! We have a fully loaded and operating kitchen, a very large all-purpose room for our students to engage in gross motor skill activities (equipped with tricycles, scooters, basketball hoops, balls, etc.; a screen for viewing overhead projection programs, power point presentations and movies); two courtyards for outdoor activities and even a playground on the roof!! Grant School Number 7 opened its Pre-Kindergarten doors on September 7, 2005. We currently have the capacity to enroll 120 Pre-K students, 8 Pre-Kindergarten classroom teachers, 8 paraprofessionals, and a host of support staff for this program. The Numbers Plus program is challenging our young minds to think at a higher level and Growing Readers is getting them ready to read! Teachers and staff have attended professional development workshops on how to use these programs effectively; and, they take time to share ideas and techniques on implementing the programs so as to get the most out of them. It continues to be our vision to maximize the potential of each child's unique abilities and interests and instill in each of them a joy for learning. It is our mission to provide a nurturing learning environment which supports the development of cognitive language, higher level thinking skills, as well as physical and interpersonal growth. Number 7 School hopes to continue to offer: Reading Logs; book fairs, the lending library, educationally sound field trips, and yes, even nights when we just get together to watch a movie on our big screen! We are extremely fortunate to have a staff totally dedicated to the advancement of our children and parents, who are involved in suggesting and implementing programs that benefit our students. Our Parent Liaison, Ms. Josefina Gomez, heads the Parent Team Association at School 19 but has kept our parents as part of her group and has slated many interesting programs for our parents and community members such as: Homework Workshop; Good Parent Skills/Discipline; How to Communicate with Your Child Through Exercise; How to Balance Career and Family; Nutrition Education; Family Fun/Reading Night; No Child Left Behind; Read Across America; Book Fairs; and, Resources Passaic Has to Offer.
