school book

Welcome to Mrs. Aparicio and Ms. Perez pre-K class page! We are looking forward to a great school year! Our first goal is to ensure your child's well being and safety. We will also help your child  acquire the basic skills needed for him/her to succeed in kindergarten and of course in years to come! But we believe we can't  do this alone. We need YOUR help!  Click here if you want to know how you can assist your child in building the basis for school success!

I apologize if the link above is not working right now. This web page is in the process of being designed. Thanks for your patience!

Dr. Peter Stavinoha, neuropsychologist at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, Texas suggests parents to look for learning readiness skills including the abilities to:

  • Sit for 15 minutes at a time and demonstrate an adequate attention span
  • Follow brief directions
  • Take care of general self-help needs
  • Be away from parents for a few hours
  • Respect authority and follow rules
  • Deal with frustration
  • Work independently for short periods
  • Get along with other children
  • Share with others

These kindergarten-readiness traits are best learned from parents, points out Dr. Vicki Folds, Vice-President of Education for Tutor Time Learning Systems, Inc.

Reminders:

  • School will be closed on September 29th-Rosh Hashanah

  • If you haven't received your child's lunch application yet. Please be patient. The cafeteria is in the process of updating the different classes lists and it might take some time before they enter all the information they need.

Weeks Ahead:

October 17th No school for students-Staff Development Day.

October 28th. School closed-Diwali observance.
