Nosotros tomaremos tiempo para contarte algunas de las cosas que hacemos en nuestra clase durante la temporada de clases.

We would like to tell you some of the activities we do during the school year.

En Matemática utilizamos MATEMATICAS DIARIAS. Nuestro programa de Matemática cuenta de 12 unidades. Durante Matemática aprendemos sobre las figuras geométricas, sus características y usos en la vida diaria. En Matemática también aprendemos a trabajar con números mientras resolvemos problemas y hacemos proyectos.

In Math we use Everyday Math. The Math program has 12 Units. We learn about Geomety. We learn how to work with numbers while we solve problems and do projects.

En Ciencias utilizamos  el programa FOSS. Este programa tiene 4 unidades. En la unidad uno estudiamos el sol y las estrellas donde aprendímos sobre el sol y su importancia. La unidad 2 es sobre el agua y sus propiedades. En la unidad 2 estudiamos los lugares donde podemos encontrar agua en nuestro planeta.Nosotros analizamos la importancia de mantener el agua limpia, libre de contaminación. En la tercera unidad aprenderemos cosas relacionadas con la electricidad y la cuarta unidad es sobre la cadena alimenticia. Durante Ciencias hacemos experimentos interesantes que disfrutamos mucho.

During Science we use FOSS. The program has four units. Unit One is about the sun and the stars. During unit one we learned characteristics of the sun and why it is so important to us. In unit two we studied our water. We learned about places where we can find water and how important is to keep our water clean. Our unit 3 is about electricity and unit 4 is about the food chain. During Science we solve problems and do some experiments that we really like.

Durante nuestra clase de lectura utilizamos CALLE DE LA LECTURA DE SCOTT FORESMAN. Durante lectura aprendemos muchas  cosas mientras mejoramos nuestras destrezas en lectura y escritura. En nuestras clases de lectura aprendemos hechos historicos importantes y también aprendemos cosas relacionadas con ciencias.

Our Reading program is Calle de lectura from Scott Foresman. During Reading we improve our reading and writing skills while we learn about history and science.

Durante nuestra clase de Ingles también aprendemos cosas muy interesantes. Practicamos lectura y escritura mientras aprendemos sobre la luz, el sonido, el campo, la ciudad y muchas cosas más.

In ESL we practice reading and writing while we learn about sounds, nutrition, light, the farm, the city and more.

Recuerde que es importante que usted nos apoye y ayude a su niño/a en la casa.

It is important that you support our school and help your child at home.

Things to remember:

• Preguntele a su niño que hizo durante el día en la escuela.

Ask your child about what he did in school during the day.

• Su niño tiene tarea todos los días y es importante que usted la revise.

Your child has homework everyday and it is important that you check your child's homework.

• Lea con su niño/a en la casa.

Read with your child at home.

• Hagale preguntas sobre lo que lean juntos.

Ask questions when you read together.

• Digale a su niño que escriba un cuento y se lo lea.

Ask your child to write a story and read it together.

• Hagale preguntas de matemática a su niño/a, la cocina y el supermercado son lugares perfectos para esto.

Ask Math questions to your child. The kitchen and the supermarket are good places for this practice.
