The week of May 13th will be our NJASK testing time. Please support the efforts of your child, and all their teachers, in preparing for this important assessment. Encourage your child to practice and review the skills and strategies they've been using in Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Writing. Reviewing Science concepts would also be helpful. Read every day for at least 30 minutes and enter information on Reading Log sheet. Please visit the school/district webpage for links to online Reading, Language Arts and Math tutorials. Select the category from the menu; then choose lesson that will give you the help you need.

Homework for May 1-3, 2013 Reading: We are reading the core novel Esperanza Rising. Discuss the what you've read with your family. Compare/contrast the story's events and characters with those of your family's or someone you may know. Read a novel of your choice for 30 minutes or longer every day. Math: Daily practice of addition/subtraction, and multiplication/division fact families. Study all math notes. Your Student Reference Book is a great review tool. Complete any activity sheets that are sent home. Writing: Completing Realistic Fiction story. Working on "Test Prep" writing. Social Studies: Completed our study on Native Americans. Beginning the study of immigraion to our state of New Jersey and the United States. **Remember: ESL Parent classes are held in our school at 6PM on Tues/Thurs.
