Formerly serving as the city’s Library Board President, trustee Craig Miller now assumes the position of Chairperson of the Special Education. He is also a member of the following Board Standing Committees: Finance, Negotiations, and By-Laws/Policies Committees, on the Passaic Board of Education. This third-year board member anticipates his days ahead as he makes the education of Passaic’s students his top priority.
Miller, who has experience in non-profit finance and budgets, is employed with the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. Additionally, the new Passaic trustee holds a Master’s Degree in accounting and financial management. His financial expertise will be exercised as he serves as a member of the Board’s Finance Committee, By-Laws/Policies, Cafeteria, and Community Relations Committees.
Additionally, Miller hopes to conduct a thorough examination of “the city’s budgets to find more savings so that student after-school programs are not affected.” While campaigning, Miller reaffirmed his support of after-school programs noting that “if the programs were to be cut, this would be the perfect example of how not to budget. The budget is not just about money; it’s about core values,” he admitted.
