Early Start Students wanting to use the Library Media Center (LMC) during period 8 or 9 may do so for reading or research. Please make sure to sign in at the circulation desk.
Late Start Students wanting to use the LMC during period 0 or 1 must get a blue pass in the LMC the day before, Students will not be able to come to the library without this pass.
During Lunch students may come to the LMC for a specific purpose. Upon arrival, students must complete a yellow all-purpose library pass at the circulation desk that will be sent to their lunch section teacher for attendance purposes. Punctuality is necessary.
During Study Hall students with a scheduled study period must report to their study hall teacher first. The study hall teacher will then issue a white all-purpose library pass for each student to be handed in at the circulation desk. A daily attendance sheet will be provided to the Library Media Center at the beginning of each study period by the study hall teacher. Any student whose name appears on the list and does not report to the library will be issued a cut.
LOST OR DAMAGED MATERIALS....
Lost materials or those damaged beyond reasonable repair must be paid for at the purchase price. If you are delinquent, report cards and participation in special events will be withheld until payment is received.
CIRCULATION PROCEDURES FOR BOOKS...
Most circulating books are checked out for a two week loan period. Some special books may be checked out for a lesser period. The due date is stamped on the inside front cover of the book. Late fines are assessed as follows: 5 cents per day; overnight books, 25 cents per day - excluding weekends and holidays.
Books may be renewed provided there is no demand for that particular title or subject. Students owing fines must clear their record before borrowing additional materials.

USING THE COMPUTERS...
The Library Media Center offers over 43 new computer terminals for student use. In order to use the computers, students must submit an Internet Agreement Form that has been signed by a parent or guardian. Students may use the computers ONLY for school-related work. Programs such as Newsbank, EBSCO, CQ Researcer, Webfeet, Litfinder, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia and Microsoft Office are available. The computer lab is oprn from 7:30AM until 3:PM.
USING THE PRINTERS...
When using the computers, students must adhere to the "Guidelines for Computer Use" which are posted near the workstations.
To conserve supplies and resources, printing from the Internet is not permitted. However, printing a Microsoft Office document that does not exceed 4 pages is allowed. Students must have permission from the cpomputer lab teacher before printing.
LIBRARY ETIQUETTE...
Students using the Library Media Center are expected to be engaged in individual study, homework, or recreational reading.
The facility should not be used for group discussions or socializing. Students who display behavior which disturbs others will be escorted to their respective vice-principal, receive detention or lose their library privileges.
Food, drink and gum chewing are not permitted in the LMC.
LIBRARY HOURS...
Library hours are Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 3:10PM. The computers must be shut down and all books checked out by 3:00PM. |
